Teknofibra is an innovative material which protects parts mounted in close proximity to high temperatures which would otherwise be damaged without proper protection. Teknofibra does not generate toxic gases.
Teknofibra offers both heat absorption/reflection and sound absorption properties, and can be used in many areas by boat and yacht builders. Tested to RINA UNI-UNISA 4589-3. Teknofibra in 3.5mm thick with a 3 mm gap is equivalent to a panel of mineral wool 40mm thick! Teknofibra is excellent to isolate equipment which generates heat, such as ovens, motors and lamps.
Teknofibra has excellent sound absoption properties and is suitable for use on silencers and mineral wool absobent walls. Teknofibra helps block access of the flame to the inside of the duct, for example in the engine room. Teknofibra can also be used to cover the padding of cushions and armchairs and prevent the escape of toxic and dangerous gases from synthetic material. Teknofibra is non-toxic even in cases of fire and has low thermal conductivity.
Teknofibra can be used as a blanket to extinguish a small fire in the kitchen or engine room. Teknofibra can be used to insulate walls much better than conventional methods, which can melt quickly, Teknofibra is non-toxic, and the smoke is non-toxic or carcinogenic and is resistant to airflows and vibration. It does not burn or transmit heat. The material is stable up to 350°c and in extreme heat of up to 1000° c; the material will last for up to 15 minutes giving the additional opportunity of escape. Teknofibra can be used to isolate containers against high temperatures, which may other damage the contents.
Teknofibra is light, and is thermally equivalent to a panel of marine plywood 20mm thick.
